#44 Good Things Happen When The Chain Reaction Starts

Good Morning!

I can’t believe it’s already been a month while at the same time it feels so normal now.

I’ve been making my bed every single morning for a solid month and let me tell you, it’s had a huge impact in my life already.  The change was so subtle and yet it’s so different now.

I know what you’re thinking:

“Oh please not another post about making your bed. I got it already! I should make my bed!”

Well, it’s not about making your bed, it’s about accomplishing something as soon as you get up in the morning, that’s all.

If you don’t care about your bed, leave it. Do something else like clean, organize, or maybe start doing that one thing that you’ve been meaning to get to for the last 6 months.

Making a bed, even a totally awesome bed covered in pillows doesn’t take longer than 5 minutes to make perfectly.

So whatever activity you’re going to do in the morning, keep it around the 5 minute mark. Make sure it’s simple enough to complete without failure before you’ve had your coffee, without a lot of coordination, and if you want to add a sense of urgency like I do, complete the task before you’ve used the bathroom.

No one told me to start doing this.  No one made me feel bad for not doing it. There is no repercussion for not doing it.  So why bother?

Because it makes me feel good that I accomplished something.

Seriously, no fluff.

I tried to not make it this morning and it felt weird, so I made it and then I felt better about it. It makes me feel good that I’ve been making my bed for an entire month.

That good feeling of accomplishment leads me to my coffee, and then to my writing desk where I spend the first half and sometimes all of my mornings. After that I go to the gym and then back to work on whatever else the day requires.

I’ve also been writing every single day since May 5th, and writing a lot some days.

That has enabled me to publish a post almost every morning for you.

It’s had a HUGE impact on my writing and editing ability.

I never thought that I could be a writer, and yet somehow it feels like this is what I’m supposed to be doing with my life.

I’ve been trying to figure where I belong in the content creation universe and what type of content I should make that will have a positive impact on your life.

Afterall, this blog is about working hard, creating, learning, and making my own way in the world by being of service, serving you.

So I make my bed in the morning and that starts a chain reaction of completing tasks that I need to do every single day in order to do just that, and for me, being of service is really important.

As always, thank-you for reading this morning.

Have a great day!

Spread the love
